Fujii Blue Balloon Flower
These large blue blooms will expand like an inflated balloon until they burst open into a gorgeous blue star. Two-foot-tall plants will set off tons of explosive little blooms late into the season, when many other flowers are spent. Plants average 20 inches tall, each its own small galaxy of blue stars, larger than traditional balloon flower. The roots of balloon flowers are edible and are typically used in Asian cuisine.

Our perennials stay outside all year regardless of the weather and then are trimmed back in the fall and again in early spring to make room for new spring/summer growth. If they don’t survive the winter, then I didn’t want them anyway. You’ll find lots of plants available in stores that are in bloom – careful! They came from a greenhouse and are not prepared for night temperatures. Add to that the added stress when planted in your garden and may not survive. My perennials may not be blooming; however, the foliage is healthy and root systems are hardy and well established. We let nature decide when to start new growth and set blooms providing you with a healthy and acclimated perennial for your garden.
The difference between nurseries or garden centers are perennials – weather acclimated hardy perennials. Other places sell annuals, trees, shrubs, etc. while we offer hundreds of organically grown perennials such as Lavender, Echinacea, Salvia, Ferns, etc, and many other unusual varieties. Most nurseries don’t/can’t dedicate this much space to this one category. This is what makes our choices so much better and different.
